General PC Troubleshooting

If you are experiencing issues with Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time crashing or stuttering on PC, you should first ensure that your machine meets minimum system requirements. If you are experiencing crashes while set to higher graphics settings, try setting graphics to a lower setting.  You can also follow the following troubleshooting steps to check for additional hardware issues.

Restart your computer:

1. Select the Restart button from the Windows™ Start menu

Update your drivers:

1. Check that you have the latest drivers for your hardware, this is especially important for min-spec machines

   • Click here for Nvidia

Disable Game DVR:

1. Navigate to Windows Settings
2. Select Gaming
3. Turn of background game recording 

Launch Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time as an Administrator: 

1. Locate the Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time .exe
   • Steam: Right click Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time in your Steam library, Select Properties then navigate to Local Files
   • Epic Store: Locate the install folder for Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time on your local drive.
2. Right click on the Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time .exe
3. Select Properties
4. Navigate to the Compatibility tab
5. Select Run this program as an administrator
6. Launch Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time

Unplug your controller:

1. Unplug your controller
2. Launch Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time
3. Plug your controller back in

Check your DirectX runtimes:

1. Click here or below: 
   • https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109
2. Download and install the latest DirectX End-User Runtimes from Microsoft.

Whitelist Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time in Anti-virus software

1. Google "(Your Anti-virus product) + whitelisting programs"

Update motherboard BIOS and chipset drivers 

If reinstalling the DirectX runtime libraries doesn't resolve the issue, there's a chance your motherboard BIOS or CPU drivers are out of date. You can find more information about updating your BIOS by navigating your motherboard manufacturer's website.
